How is a Manual Assessment passing score set up in USA Staffing?
The Passing Score option is available only for Manual Assessments that are used for Rating. The ability to set/apply a passing score is permissioned and defaulted to disabled for all USA Staffing users except Office Administrators. HR users with appropriate permissions can set up a Manual Assessment passing score by
- Turning on the Passing Score setting on the Assessment Information page, and then
- Setting the Passing Score Criteria based on the overall raw score that applicants receive. The passing score can be set at different values for different rating combinations (e.g., GS-12 vs. GS-13).
Users can upload documentation supporting the development of the Manual Assessment passing score in the Documents section of USA Staffing.
Can I add/remove a Passing Score to a Manual Assessment after the announcement is open?
While not recommended, consistent with the flexibility associated with all other Manual Assessment settings, the Passing Score can be updated after the announcement is open. An HR user with appropriate permissions can uncomplete the Assessment Package, and then turn on/off the Passing Score setting for that Manual Assessment, and/or adjust the Passing Score Criteria as needed. Once the revised Assessment Package is completed, the system re-rates all applicants using the new scoring approach. This type of action will be tracked automatically in the Manual Assessment’s History. The HR user is responsible for documenting the rationale for adding/removing/modifying the passing score through the Assessment Package notes and/or attached documents.
What Notice of Results (NOR) code will applicants receive if they do not attain the Manual Assessment passing score?
IQMA - You are ineligible to proceed in the hiring process because you did not attain the overall passing score on the assessment(s) for the position.
How does USA Staffing determine applicant ratings for a Manual Assessment with a passing score?
When using a Passing Score for a Manual Assessment, USA Staffing will automatically determine if the applicant’s score falls at/above or below the passing score based on the Assessment Rating value that is imported or key entered for each applicant, as follows
- If the score is at or above the passing score, the assessment transmuted rating will be calculated using the passing score as the minimum value for the calculation. If a NOR code is entered, it will be applied to the assessment’s minimum qualifications; otherwise, if there is no NOR code entered, the assessment minimum qualifications will default to ELTE.
If the score is below the passing score and there is no NOR code entered, the Manual Assessment minimum qualifications will default to IQMA. If another ineligible NOR code is entered, it will be applied.
